You can share a life without merging your money
Have Another Cherry started with a frustration I kept running into: every expense app assumes you're either strangers settling a trip, or a couple on the way to one joint account. Plenty of us are neither. Partners, roommates, family sharing a roof. We live together, we split the costs of that life, and we still keep our own money, on purpose.
The other assumption those apps make is that equal is fair. It usually isn't. When the people in a home earn differently, an even split takes a much bigger bite out of the smaller paycheck, quietly, every month. So this app starts from a ratio everyone agrees to, keeps every expense as its own line you can point at, and does the arithmetic so the money stays a detail rather than the conversation.

I created Have Another Cherry after one too many spreadsheet arguments with myself about who owed what, and how purchases should be paid back. I implement POS software for restaurants by day, work on my Ph.D. in interpersonal relationships at night, and work on this labor of love inspired by my partner, Robert, later at night. I guess this means I "lead product and design," but I certainly obsess over the details that make a financial app feel calm instead of stressful. My goal is to make every feature of Have Another Cherry affordable for those interested in its premium features and make sharing expenses feel fairer and friendlier for all its users so that their relationships stay sweet and purchasing things together sweeter.

A few things we won't budge on
Fair by default. Equal isn't always fair. We start from a split that reflects what you each actually earn, then keep it honest to the cent.
Your money stays yours. Nothing here pushes you toward a joint account. Keeping your own money is a valid way to do this, and the app is built for it.
Two people, reachable. A founder and a developer. When you write in, you're talking to the people who actually built the thing.
